Body Wash Packaging &3D Mockup Design
Project Overview: For this project, I designed a body wash packaging and created a realistic 3D mockup using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Dimension. The goal was to develop an aesthetic, organic, and professional product visualization that would enhance my portfolio and demonstrate my ability to create custom branding and packaging designs.
Challenge
Most designers rely on pre-made mockups, resulting in repetitive and generic portfolio presentations. I aimed to create a custom, high-quality mockup that not only showcased my packaging design but also reflected the brand’s organic and premium essence.
Additionally, I needed to ensure that the graphic elements aligned seamlessly on the 3D model and that the final presentation appeared as realistic and professional as possible.
Design Process
1. Creating the Packaging Design
- Concept Development: Designed an organic-inspired label incorporating soft colors, elegant typography, and natural imagery.
- Artboard Setup: Adjusted the artboard dimensions in Adobe Illustrator to ensure the label would wrap around the bottle without distortion.
- Exporting: Saved the final design as a JPEG, ensuring it was high resolution and properly formatted for Adobe Dimension.
2. Setting Up the 3D Mockup in Adobe Dimension
- Model Selection: Used the starter asset round bottle from Adobe Dimension’s library as the base.
- Scaling Adjustments: Adjusted the height and proportions of the bottle to make it more realistic for a body wash product.
- Applying Graphics: Imported the JPEG design onto the bottle, aligning it properly to avoid warping or misalignment.
3. Enhancing the Visual Presentation
- Cap Customization: Changed the bottle cap from silver to copper to better match the brand’s soft, natural identity.
- Background Setup: Created a custom shadow box with a light wood texture, reinforcing the organic theme.
- Realistic Touch: Added a water splash element to enhance the fresh and clean aesthetic.
4. Rendering & Final Adjustments
- Preview Rendering: Checked lighting, materials, and placement before final rendering.
- High-Quality Rendering: Used medium-quality render settings in Adobe Dimension to balance quality and processing time.
- Post-Processing in Photoshop: Adjusted brightness, contrast, and sharpness for a polished final presentation.
